How this is worked out
Kalshi settles on the official daily climate report, which gives the high in whole °F. Hourly reports carry tenths of a °C, so they pin down one exact °F. The 5-minute readings only carry whole °C, which fits a range such as 89–90°F, so the high so far is shown as the lowest value it can be and the highest the readings allow.
